I currently live in Hamilton, Alabama. I have retired after 36 years in manufacturing, and now devote the majority of my time to writing, music, and learning.

SHOP OF OLD THINGS

If ghosts were real, would they conform to our preconceptions?
Being a ghost is ok for the first two or three hundred years. After that, not so much. Will Jones looks forward to running the antique shop after retiring. He thinks he will regain control of his life. Ghosts residing in the shop have a different agenda.

"You non-ghosts only understand the desire to live a rich existence because your life is ahead of you. Ghosts seek only to no longer exist. We are but remnants and residue left behind, overdue to vanish and be gone. We are tethered to our items until they have a permanent location and entered into the ledger. The system forces us to rely on non-ghosts. Otherwise, we would do away with you."
